Back to normal.... well almost
I haven't been able to get to the gym all week for one reason or another. I went Tuesday morning and planned to go again Thursday, then Friday, then today at 4, but again no one is around to look after Grace whilst I go, I suppose I could put her in the creche, but with her being nearly 6 I don't imagine for one minute they could keep her occupied for 2-3 hours, which is how much time with shower and doing hair and make up etc is how long I usually take.
So I decided to get out for a run this morning before Faye left for work. I did my old route, it was a little muddy off road, but it was good. It was hard going, its rubbish when they say that the random option on the treadmill prepares you for the road! I managed about 20 minutes non stop then did a 2 minute walk before continuing home, which only took about 3 minutes, and it definitely gave me a good work out because I am coughing again!
Hopefully with Grace being back to school tomorrow I will be able to get back into my routine, and I will most certainly get back out on the road now, its much easier to make time for that as opposed to the gym.
On the subject of going back to school, I have read on the forum that some parents are allowed to send their children to school and nursery whilst on IV's. I suppose if we exercise a little control and have a chat with the teachers, then Grace should be ok, maybe not go on the playground and skip P.E until they are finished?
Her appointment to get her line taken out on Thursday turned out to be a long morning, it was at 9.30, but Dr S wanted to have a chest xray because her bloods had shown a high white blood cells count indicating infection. She has a looser cough now, but I am guessing that the IV's have drawn that out, and Dr S thought maybe the same, but overall the cough was worse than at the start. He asked if she had improved any, I thought marginal but it was hard to tell until she went back to her daily routine at school. They have taken more bloods to see the difference from the onset of the IV's, to check her blood sugars and also to test for aspergillus, this was due to the fact that there was no sign of collapse on the xray, a small cloudy area to the bottom of her left lung, but which he couldn't really make anything out, so he thought the next step was to look at aspergillus. With that in mind he has cancelled her appointment at BCH on 22 March as Dr W would be in Coventry on 6 March so they wanted his input as soon as possible, but generally if its not aspergillus then what could it be?
My bathroom is finished, it looks very nice at long last, I had a shower this morning after my run and it was very luxurious...........now to start on the kitchen.... well not just yet, I need to get over this first!! I will post pictures soon, but at the moment Adam has his Ipod on charge and logged into ITunes so I don't want to mess anything up?
