Trying hard to go regular!
Grace went to school yesterday after half term with a bit of a tummy ache. I had to go and collect her at 11.30 and she has remained on the sofa until this morning. As I thought she had a bit of a blockage, so we plied her with lactulose and prune juice and lots of warm water and hey presto! It worked this morning. She said her tummy is alot better, but still lingering pain in the background so I have kept her off today just incase there is more to come.
She has gotten a super appetite this week, I don't know if its a good thing or a bad thing. She generally goes off her food slightly when her prednisalone is upped (most people gain weight whilst on steroids) but Grace goes off things, she still manages to get a moony face though. Anyway she has now gone back to 10ml every other day and she has finished the ciprofloxacin course and is back on her prophylactic which is septrin. Which is probably what caused the blockage due to her system being a bit messed up. Anyway enough of discussing bowels, but its just an insite into the every routine of a family with CF in their lives (bowels make up a big percentage of the conversation).
Luckily I was able to go to the gym early as its Marks day off today, and although he had to call into work briefly he said I had plenty of time to go. So although it was the first time this week I had a very lengthy session. I did 25 minutes on the treadmill and my floor work and tummy work (same thing really as I do all my tummy work on the floor). I then did 12 lengths of the pool followed by half an hour in the jacuzzi, which I highly recommend to relieve stress.
When I met up with Suzie, Livvy and Shadow at the weekend, we discussed doing the Hydro again in September, I am definitely going to do it and I have already looked at hotels, infact I want to stay in the same one as last time, it was an excellent location and a very nice base. I also need to crack on with my training now, so hopefully I will get the opportunity to go more often, I feel its almost time to get back on the road regularly, I think by the beginning of April I will be back into my routine.
Hopefully that little girlie can go back to school tomorrow and the daily regime of lactulose, prune juice and acidophillus will resume now that she has finished the nasty cipro.
Grace received a present through the post this morning, it was a belated birthday present, a zip up top with a ballerina on, so that has cheered her up no end! Thank you Livvy xxxx

Glad she liked the jacket and hope she's feeling a bit better now.
